day one.

Tomorrow is the day. Well, not THE day, but pretty darn close. Tomorrow is the first day I take actual medications for the surrogacy. Tomorrow is the first day I have to inject myself. Tomorrow really starts it all, and I can't wait.

Lupron 20 units subq daily...for a really long time!

This will be me tomorrow morning.
I do this at work every single day, but I have a feeling it's not going to be nearly as easy as it is when I give the injection to someone else. I'm thankful that I get to start off with the easy ones.

Next week, I will make my first trip to Arizona. I look forward to meeting all the girls I have exchanged countless emails and phone calls with. I also look forward to making the trip with Carlos. We will stay one night, and he will go to all of my appointments with me.

  2. I know, right? It is all SO fast now. I am so happy that Carlos was able to get the time off to come. I think it will be SO good for us to have that time alone and then for him to be involved in part of the process.

  3. Wow, you are one special woman to do this for them! My friend always jokes with me that I should have one more baby because my hips are so messed up from the two that I have a hard time horseback riding anymore. She thinks one more would fix it or something. And I always say if I could do it for someone else I might. But I don't think I actually could. Prayers for you and your family that all goes smoothly!

    1. Thank you Cary! I never would have thought that this was something I could actually do, until last year. It really is something I felt called to do. So, if having another one will fix your hips, will this fix my belly and boobs that my kids destroyed!? lol

  5. Oh my gosh, if we're all this excited then Ali must be just totally beside herself! What a special situation this is, her being such a huge part of your kids life too! I'm so happy Carlos is able to go with you, and that the kids will be well taken care of and going to yogurtland with Ali! hehe!

  6. Caryn, I can't believe I'm so happy you GET to start taking your injections. BUT I AM!!! I'm really glad Carlos will be able to go to Arizona with you. He's seems to be kind of the forgotten angel. Please know, we know, he and the kids are all part of it. Our family combined. I just hope Ali will take MY grandchild(ren) to Yogurtland. ;)
